On top of Corcovado Mountain, at Tijuca National Park, there is one of the Seven Modern Wonders of the World -Christ the Redeemer. The oldest and favorite point in Brazil for tourists, it is about 700 meters above the sea and offers the most stunning view of the City of Rio that you can possibly imagine.
Opened in 1931, the 83 year old monument its more than a place to visit, it is beloved by locals, and is now one of the most recognizable icons of Rio and Brazil.
To get to the 38 meter-tall statue, it is possible to drive up the Paineiras hill, and get the historic train up there, or even to get to see its beauty by helicopter - so this is what I did! With the invitation of my Helicopter Pilot friend, Luana Torres we went high in the air to experience a Rio panoramic tour! The photos tells everything - it is the number one on the must do list!
