According to a report on NPR yesterday, this is predicted to be the coldest day in New York City history. Yes, we're basically freezing our faces off here in the Northeast—and when you're freezing your face off, you have to tweak your makeup habits accordingly. Here are some key cold-weather lip tips we just heard from celebrity makeup artist Nick Barose, who dolled up Pitch Perfect 2 star Chrissie Fit for the film's NYC press day.

Prep is crucial. Don't just slap on lip color without ensuring your pout is de-flaked and hydrated. "Gently exfoliate your lips with a Clarisonic brush or warm washcloth, then add rich lip balm," says Barose, who's been using Teadora Lip Butter on his celeb clients.
